Products
Should I waterproof my full-grain leather bag?
Our full-grain cowhide leather is a raw, supple, high-quality material. It is protected only by a fine layer of aniline, which preserves its suppleness and authenticity. If you wish, you may waterproof your leather bags to protect them further from the elements. In that case, we recommend seeking advice from a specialist cobbler, who will be able to guide you towards suitable products. Do note, however, that this step is not essential: the beauty of leather lies above all in the character of its natural wear and the way it evolves over time, at your side. These variations in colour and texture give it the distinctive patina so prized by connoisseurs. You can find all the information you need to care for your bag in our "Leather Care" section.
Are Lancaster bags made in France?
Lancaster manufactures some of its products in France and remains faithful and attentive to the tradition of leather craftsmanship, now increasingly rare. However, part of its collection is also produced abroad. Our specifications and quality control follow strict, pre-established standards, with no variation depending on where the pieces are made. In the same spirit of consistency, we naturally use the same high-quality raw materials regardless of where our leather goods are produced.
If my Lancaster bag needs repairing but is no longer under warranty, what can I do?
If your item is damaged and a repair is possible, a quotation will be offered. First, we invite you to contact, preferably, the boutique where the product was purchased. If you bought it via the online boutique, or if you are unable to contact the boutique where you made your purchase, please contact the After-Sales Service at the following address: sav@lancaster.com, attaching supporting photographs to your email.
Do Lancaster bags ever go on sale?
Some Lancaster products may indeed be discounted during sale periods or on other occasions, whether in-store or online, by our stockists or by us directly.
