As a founding Director and past Chairman of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Mr. Sharman played a key role in the development of this world-class marketing and reservations association. Originally Small Luxury Hotels encompassed unique, individually owned and operated hotels in North America. It was merged with Prestige Hotels of Great Britain in 1991 to become Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) which now showcases over 257 luxury hotels and resorts, in 50 countries, and has become internationally renowned for unique, personalized hotels and resorts.

In addition to the projects outlined herein, Mr. Sharman was involved in repositioning The Fairmount Hotel in San Antonio, the renovation and repositioning of Hotel Maison de Ville & the Audubon Cottages, the development of the Bistro at Masion de Ville in the French Quarter of New Orleans, the Tremont Hotel in Chicago and the Argyle in West Hollywood in conjunction with Morgan Stanley.

Mr. Sharman attended the University of Notre Dame where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with a special commendation. He currently sits on many civic, professional and corporate boards throughout the United States.  He also serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas.

After many years experience in the Caribbean, Janet and Brent settled in Belize and jointly manage  Victoria House on Ambergris Caye.  Janet is a  professional financial accountant with a controller background.  Together they make a perfect team for this little jewel in the sea
